The sky was clear blue, not a single cloud covered the sky. It was cold, the snow was frozen and hard. The white ground crunched under Nayan paws. He wandered around for hours, searching for Naik. The Smell of his brother flew through the air and told that Naik wasn't that far. Nayan was depressed, all the way he thought about what he could say. The situation between Naik and Kendra wasn't easy to bear. Nayan came up with several ideas to relex his brother, and already built the conversation in his head. Nayan would ask his little brother, why he was so angry back then, Naik would rnt about Kendra and after that Nayan would ask him to gomeback and forgive Kendra. They would talk a bit but after that Naik would come with him, that was his plan. The only thing he had to do was staying calm. Nayan always was the understanding and friendly big brother to Naik, he couldn't allow himself rage or anger. He finally arrived at the edge of a little snow hill. Down in the valley there was Naik, sitting on the ice, starring at his reflection. Nayan sighed and slowly slided down the hill. Naik didn't moved when Nayan set himself behind him. "So here I am!" Said Nayan with a warm voice. Naik didn't turned around, he said absolutly nothing. "Naik, please! Talk to me, I know it's not easy, but-" Naik jumped around and snapped at Nayan "You are right, It's not easy living with a monster like her." Nayan jumped back, confused of this harsh reaction. "You want to talk! But there is nothing left to say! If you can't see what she is doing to us than you are blind!" Naik was beside himself, the rage in his heart streamed into every single bodypart. "I always was afraid of the day you would get a mate, but I could imagine a friendly contact. I knew I wouldn't be as important as befor but that was no problem." Naik snarled "But then, she came. I haven't thought about what happens if your mate doesn't want friendly contact. I haven't expected that she tries to get rid of me like this, that she hates me like this!" "But she doesn't!" Shouted Nayan. He was confused about how Naik saw the situation. "She doesn't hate you, she is sorry for what happend." Naik snouted "Oh please, is that what you came up to appease me?" Nayan didn't answered. Naik was right, kind of... That's what Nayan planed on telling Naik, but on the otherhand, it wasn't a lie. Kendra really was sorry. "That's what I'm talking about!" Naiks voice trembled and he was shaking. "No matter what, you always protect her. Did you ever really talked with her, how hard this is for me?" Nayan didn't answered. He hasn't, he didn't wanted to bother her with it. "I don't feel save anymore when I'm with you. If there would happen anything bad, you would decide to help her, you would turn away from me with out any thoughts, wouldn't you?" Naiks voice became so silent it was nearly a whisper. "But you can't have me around without carring for me too. I'm not a stone who doesn't feel any pain, I feel Kendras aversion and your disappointment." Naik shivered he was about to cry. "You, You have to decide." Naik raised his head and pain and anger glowed through his eyes. "Choose Me and we will leave this place together. The valley is big enough, we will never see her again. Or choose her and end our life as brothers."
Nayan stared at Naik. He couldn't belive what he just heard. Naiks hollow face made him wish he hadn't come. His little brother was serious, there was no joke behind this question. >End our life as brothers< or leave Kendra alone. "How could I ever choose between this? I can keep both, you as my brother and her as my mate." "NO, you can't you have to decide!" Shouted Naik "But if I leave Kendra, she will die. She is pregnant she can't hunt alone she needs help!" Said Nayan desperately "So I do!" Answered Naik with a cold and deep voice. "B-but I can't leave her, I can't let her die, and the pups. They are our pups, I couldn't forgive myself!" Thousend pictures of dead pups ran through Nayans head. He closed his eyes but the pictures burned inside his head. "But leaving me?" Nayan opend his eyes and looked at naik "What?" "But you could forgive yourself leaving me?!" repeated Naik. Nayan didn't knew what to say. Naik could live on his own, couldn't he? Nayan wasn't sure, but he knew Naik was right. He would always choose Kendra.
"I'm so sorry Naik!" Nayan felt so weak, like there was nothing else he could do. "I see." Naiks voice echoed in Nayans head "Then make me go!" Nayan didn't got what he meaned "You ended what we had, I'm just somebody. Just like every other Helhund in this valley!" Naiks raised his voice. "What would you do to someone like me who threats your pack? Seal your decission! Fight me, you lair!" Naik jumped towards Nayan and snapped, Nayan dodged the attac. He was overwhelmed, didn't knew what to do. Naik got Nayans paw and bit. Nayan gasped. "I hate you so much Nayan! I hate you!" All this felt so unreal but he finally understood it. He made a decission, there was no going back, no he had to fight for what was important, regardless of what would happen afterwards. His head was clear and the blood came back to his head. A freeze flew through his body and his muscles tensed. He soared around and got Naik on his throat. Nayans teeth drilled themself in naiks flesh. Nayan flinged his younger brother to the ground. Both snarreled and growled at each other when Nayan raised his paws and shouted "THEN GO!" He pushed his rival against the ice and bit into his snout. Naik gasped and whined, the young helhund tried tofree himself out of the bite. Naik kicked against the belly of the stronger hund, shaked his head but nothing worked. Blood driped onto the ice. Suddenly Nayan let go, Naik took his chance jumped up and ran away, Nayan right after him snapping after his legs. But Naik ran as fast as he could and finally reached the forest. Nayan stoped, he was exhausted. Blood driped from his mouth and he breathed deep and fast. Slowly he calmed down, only his thoughts wouldn't stop. Did I do the right thing? But he knew no matte how long he would think about it he would never know. You can't be sure to do the right thing, because you will never know would would happen if you decided otherwise. Still, there was a hole, deep inside him. Nayan turned around and walked home, back to the life he chose.
The next part of Nayan's and Kendra's little story. Even tough this turns into a drama. I'm kind of proud of myself, this is the first drawing I did complety digital, since weeks.
